Mykki Blanco Details 'Betty Rubble: The Initiation,' Adds Vancouver Date

Mykki Blanco missed the March deadline she had previously set for the Betty Rubble: The Initiation EP, but the New York rapper tweeted today (April 18) that the set will finally arrive May 21.

UPDATE: The EP is now set to drop May 13.

A press release, meanwhile, confirms that the eight-song follow-up to last year's Cosmic Angel: The Illuminati Prince/ss features production from  A-Trak & Oligee, Supreme Cuts, Matrixxman (of 5kin&Bone5), Sinden and more. Already, we've heard "Bugged Out," and Blanco just unveiled a new video clip for the likewise previously teased "Feeling Special." You can check that clip out below.

"The Initiation EP is aptly titled as I feel the music on this release is my way of initiating listeners into the lyricism and storytelling, the hard-hitting rhymes and tripped-out cadences that have become the signatures of what make the Mykki Blanco sound," she said in a statement. "I know that I can be a chameleon but this EP peels back the layers of persona to reveal to you Mykki Blanco the rapper and nothing else. You can love it or hate it but this is HIP HOP."

Blanco has also added more dates to her already on-the-go world tour. For Canuck fans, this means that on top of performances in Toronto and Hamilton next week, she'll be out on the West Coast for a Vancouver gig on June 29.
