Toronto six-piece Mune are gearing up to drop their debut full-length Falling Through next week, but before it officially arrives, Exclaim! is giving you the opportunity to stream it in its entirety.
The electro-tinged indie rock troupe formed just last year, bringing together a smattering of previous collaborators who have made a concentrated effort to build "textured sounds" and "ethereal atmospheres."
We were introduced to Mune's shimmering, shoegaze-y sound on the previously premiered single "Khazé," and they carry on that same spirit across the eight songs on Falling Through.
Opener "Instinct" sets the tone for what's to come with its instantly catchy brand of synth-pop — though more organic sounds like guitar and piano still manage to shine through. "Veritas" and "Fortress" hear the band veering into dreamy territory, while "Call to Arms" showcases their flair for the dramatic, delivering a slow-building, theatrical and noisy number. Clocking in at just over five minutes, closer "Stand Back" hears the culmination of the band's indie rock and synth-pop influences blending with their experimental spirit in a pretty, relaxed swirl of sound to bring the album to a beautiful ending.
Falling Through is due out June 2 on Culvert Music, but you can give it an early listen right now in the player below.
