"Bitter Wine"

Toronto outfit Most People released their Violet Spaces EP in the spring of 2015 and returned to the studio this year to start a new chapter as a band. Ahead of their Toronto performance alongside Braids, Exclaim! has your first listen to the new single "Bitter Wine."

Marked by a steady droning synth, active arpeggiation and driving rhythm section, the track's electro-pop feel comes with a darker edge, leading the band to describe it as "similar to Phil Collins meets Braids."

"This song is certainly a darker place for us," Brandon Gibson DeGroote tells Exclaim! "Essentially it's about being in a situation that you know is a lie, that you know is just dragging on, sucking the life out of you, and there is nothing you can do about it. 'Bitter Wine' really was an outlet for all of us. We all had a dark year in various ways, so we wanted to amalgamate a unified negative front."

Most People will certainly put their negativity behind them as the take the stage alongside Braids, Nyssa and DJ Digits at the Garrison in Toronto on November 30, as part of Red Bull Sound Select.
