As we all know by now, the Monsters of Folk is the terrible/awesome moniker for the new collaborative supergroup featuring M. Ward, Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and My Morning Jacket's Jim James. The group have prepared their self-titled debut and it will be released on September 22 through Shangri-La.
Rumors were floating that the group would be embarking on a "monstrous" tour this fall and now dates have been confirmed. Kicking off in Vancouver on October 13, the Monsters will comb the North American continent until mid-November, including another Canadian stop in Toronto. From there, they will hit up Europe before concluding the tour in Belgium on November 22.
According to a press release for the tour, "the four members will be switching instruments and trading roles throughout each show." Wow, it's just like Sloan!
