Austin-based singer-songwriter Molly Burch has announced a new album Daydreamer, out September 29 via Captured Tracks.
The conceptualization of Daydreamer began after Burch came across her diaries from when she was 13 years old.
"I see myself as a daydreamer. Someone who uses their imagination to escape reality when sadness and longing begins," said Burch in a press release. "When I think of my most prominent daydreaming years, I see an insecure and introverted thirteen-year-old hiding out in her bedroom… This album is dedicated not only to my thirteen-year-old self, but the thirteen-year-old selves that still linger within all of us. It's filled with bops and ballads and I'm so excited to share it with you."
Produced by Jack Tatum (Wild Nothing), Daydreamer is said to be more pop inclined than Burch's previous albums and to have a sharper production style.
To coincide with the album announcement, Burch has shared the song "Physical," an open-hearted track about Burch's struggles with PMS. Listen to it below, where you can also see the album's tracklist.
