Tragedy has struck Montreal's music community as prolific performer Katherine Anne Peacock has been pronounced dead.
The 33-year-old multi-instrumentalist went missing on April 6. Now, the CBC reports that authorities discovered her body on May 9. Police do not suspect foul play, though a cause of death has not been released.
According to Cult MTL, Peacock's friend Ian Christopher explained that she had been going on what he described as "thrill-seeking" swimming adventures in the cold waters of the St. Lawrence River. Peacock's father reportedly found her backpack near the bank of the river after she went missing, though she had left her wallet and cellphone at home.
In addition to solo work under the Mussaver moniker, Peacock performed with the groups Telefauna, Dorian Hatchet, North My Love, People for Audio, Adam & the Amethysts, and Blind Love/White Light, among others.
