Minus the Bear Announce 'Infinity Overhead' Album

In 2011, indie prog outfit Minus the Bear indulged themselves in a well-deserved tenth anniversary celebration by reissuing some of their earliest releases. Now, the Seattle-based band have set their sights on the future by unveiling their latest LP, Infinity Overhead, which will be out on August 28 via Dangerbird Records.

According to a press release, the ten-song collection is "bristling with guitar acrobatics and infectious melodies," and represents "a return to form in direction, instrumentation and creation." The reportedly intricate, aggressive and guitar-heavy record was produced by former band member Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Pearl Jam), who also helmed a number of the band's prior releases.

The songs were recorded at London Bridge Studio and Bayles's own Red Room Recording. Frontman Jake Snider said in a statement, "I don't know if this is our darkest record. It has more contrast but it definitely has some bright points. The darks are darker and the brights are brighter."

See the tracklist below, and scroll past that to check out a minute-long teaser featuring the tuneful song "Diamond Lightning."
