It's the follow-up to 2018's 'Deception Bay'

After returning with "Bigger Love" — their first single since 2019 — in April, Montreal's Milk & Bone (Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin) are back with news of their third studio album, as well as effervescent new single "Movies."

Chrysalism will unfold on October 28 via Bonsound and is now available for preorder. Composed and recorded with Los Angeles producer Micah Jasper (ELIO, Rebecca Black, Slayyyter), it's the duo's third full-length, following 2018's Deception Bay and 2019 EP Dive.

According to press materials, Chrysalism represents a more pop-forward departure for the pair and is a coming-of-age arc that sees Lafond-Beaulne and Poliquin maturing beyond seeing themselves as victims.

New single "Movies" was inspired by MUNA's Phoebe Bridgers-featuring queer pop anthem "Silk Chiffon" — one of Exclaim!'s 30 Best Songs of 2021. About the challenge of standing your ground or moulding yourself to fit someone else's shape ("I'm thinking violence / I'm thinking soothe"), it marks the first time a Milk & Bone song has featured guitar as the main instrument, the bouncy six-string melody giving it an airborne quality.
