Miley Cyrus has threatened a Metallica covers album, and while we await that fascinating pop culture crossover, we can also rest assured that she'll release some music of her own, too.
As it turns out, her recent single "Midnight Sky" was part of a larger project — the forthcoming LP Plastic Hearts. The album, which is out November 27 via RCA Records, will include that single, along with her recent covers of the Cranberries' "Zombie" and Blondie's "Heart of Glass."
"I began this album over 2 years ago," she said in a hand-written statement that accompanied the announcement. "Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record — its songs/sounds but my whole fucking life. No one checks an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of work was finished it was all erased, including most of the music's relevance because everything had changed."
It's not quite a full album of Metallica covers, but the new Miley album sounds somewhat intriguing nonetheless.
