Bands are finally returning to the road, but Toronto noise rockers METZ have run into serious trouble on tour with Preoccupations, as they had all of their gear and merch stolen while in California.
Just two days into their first tour since the pandemic, the band were in Santa Clarita, CA, and they had their trailer stolen. A GoFundMe campaign explains, "There aren't words for the blow this has dealt the band; financially, logistically, mentally, and emotionally. This tour was meant to be a celebration for METZ; of them being together with all of you again, of doing what they love, and of sharing the joy and the energy that only comes from playing live. But it was also a means to make some much needed revenue after the financial setbacks of the past two years."
Thankfully for METZ, the campaign has already been an incredible success. As of this writing, the band have already surpassed their $20,000 USD fundraising goal — just four hours since they launched it.
The band don't intend on cancelling any shows. They will be continuing on the tour, which means purchasing a new backline.
