METZ

"Mess of Wires"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 22, 2017

METZ have been teasing their impending third album Strange Peace with cuts like "Cellophane" and "Drained Lake," and they've just dropped another preview.

"Mess of Wires" serves as the new LP's opening cut, and it's another pummelling blast of noise rock. Give it a listen down below.

In a statement, METZ frontman Alex Edkins said "Mess of Wires" is "a reminder to myself to speak out and say what I believe. To be honest with myself. It is common to feel that your thoughts are inconsequential, a drop in the echo-chamber, but silence can be worse. Speak out about what you believe in, loud and often. In the spirit of this song, I want to strongly condemn the violent and hateful actions of the white-supremacists and neo-nazis in Charlottesville, VA. this past week. Their vile attempts to incite division and fear through intimidation and violence have no place in this world."

As previously reported, Strange Peace arrives on September 22 via Royal Mountain Records/Sub Pop. It will mark the follow-up to 2015's II.
