Merge Records Details Remix Comp with Caribou, Junior Boys, Four Tet, the Blow

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Sep 24, 2009

As mentioned previously, North Carolina indie powerhouse Merge Records is celebrating its 20th anniversary. And to mark the occasion the label has been working on a pile of goodies, such as a box set, a history book, a five-day fest and a covers comp. Well, Merge also promised that a remix album would be thrown into the mix, and now they've revealed the details.

On November 17, SCORE! 20 Years of Merge Records: The Remixes! will be up for grabs and there are some pretty impressive remixers, including Caribou, Four Tet, Junior Boys and Jason Forrest, who takes on Arcade Fire's "No Cars Go." There's also the Blow redoing Portastatic's "Drill Me" and Tortoise's John McEntire making over Spoon's "The Ghost of You Lingers."

The release comes as part of the box set but will also be available digitally through the Merge website and as a stand-alone, limited-edition CD. Like the other SCORE! releases, all sales proceeds go to the charities listed here
