Mika Posen's name may ring a bell from her extensive resumé that includes string-playing stints with Timber Timbre, Forest City Lovers and Kite Hill (not to mention guest appearances and recording work with the likes of Broken Social Scene, Feist, Basia Bulat, Maylee Todd, Evening Hymns and Snowblink). At the moment, though, she's setting aside her high-profile collaborations for a new project called Merganzer, and Exclaim! has got your exclusive first listen to a brand new song called "Mirror Maze."
The piece serves as the title track on the forthcoming debut album from Merganzer, and it's as shimmery, reflective and entrancing as you would expect from a song called "Mirror Maze." Opening with a minimalist beat made up of Posen's own violin samples and ethereal, echoing vocals, the track leads the listener down a hauntingly beautiful path.
Let Posen guide you through the sonic labyrinth of her own creation by hitting play below.
Mirror Maze is due out on November 24.
