The Men Offshoot Dream Police Announce Debut LP for Sacred Bones

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 26, 2014

After issuing Tomorrow's Hits earlier this year with full-time outfit the Men, founding members Nick Chiericozzi and Mark Perro have announced plans to issue the debut full-length from their other group, Dream Police. The duo's Hypnotized casts itself our way November 11 through Sacred Bones.

A press release explains that the set was created in the wake of a five-month Men tour last year, with the pair jamming together with collaborator Kyle Keays-Hagerman for the next six months to string together the eight-song LP. The final mixes were done earlier in the spring, just after Tomorrow's Hits was released. Described as "a cloud of future primitive psychedelia," the album is said to be marked with drum machines and "glimmering electronics."

Tomorrow's Hits follows a two-song cassette from 2010, as well as an independently issued live release from 2011.Though full song previews have yet to arrive, you can check out an as-yet-unidentified swirl of tremolo-laden, bluesy guitar work from the album in a new teaser. You'll find the video, which features vintage visuals of Lego commercials and a businessman taking a 2x4 to the neck, down below.
