Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine has responded to accusations that he had an affair with an Instagram model — and then tried to name his baby with his wife after the other woman. He has denied having an affair, but admitted that he "crossed the line."
Levine's wife Behati Prinsloo revealed this month that she is pregnant with their third child together. In the midst of this, model Sumner Stroh posted a TikTok video yesterday (September 20), claiming that she was "exploited" and "manipulated" into a year-long affair with Levine.
Stroh says that she broke it off some time ago, but that Levine recently reached out to her via an Instagram DM to say, "Ok serious question. I'm having another baby and if it's w [sic] boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious." Her screenshot reveals that he seemingly followed that message up three minutes later with a shrugging emoji.
Stroh said she hadn't planned to share this publicly, but after she told a few friends, one of them attempted to sell the story to the tabloids, leading to her getting out in front of it by sharing the news herself.
In an Instagram Story posted today (September 20), Levine responded, claiming that he "did not have an affair," but admitted that he "crossed the line during a regrettable time in my life." He acknowledged that he "used poor judgement in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner." He added, "In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family."
He said that his family "will get through it together." He never addressed the allegation that he attempted to name his baby after the model. See the full message below.
