Quebec's Lou-Adriane Cassidy has a certain tenacity and conviction as a live performer that's hard to explain; that's what I took away when I saw her at the 2022 edition of Festival de musique émergente. At that point in time, she was touring behind her 2021 sophomore album Lou-Adriane Cassidy vous dit : Bonsoir, to which she has now announced the follow-up.

Journal d'un Loup-garou is set for release on January 24 through Bravo musique. It likewise follows — and likely partially takes its name from — the singer-songwriter's most recent project, Le Roy, la Rose et le Lou[p], a collaborative effort with fellow Quebecois artists Ariane Roy and Thierry Larose.

According to press notes, the new LP sees Cassidy as she "bemoans the state of show business, sings from the point of view of a monster trapped in a downward spiral, and asks for absolution for herself and her father, who left home when she was 16," exploring new avenues of pop and contemporary music while capturing the energy of her live performances.

In an Instagram post announcing Journal d'un Loup-garou, Cassidy revealed that there would be no tour behind the project; just two special performances in Quebec City and Montreal, respectively, next February. Tickets for those are on sale now.

Get your first taste of the 14-track record with jaunty, piano-driven Europop lead single "Dis-moi dis-moi dis-moi" below, which arrives alongside a video directed by Charles-Antoine Olivier.
