After a brief stint as Andrew Bird's opening entertainment, Loney Dear is gearing up to head out on his own. Emil Svanängen's now comma-less project will headline its own North American tour this spring and bring this Swede's left-field popisms to several U.S. cities, as well as to Montreal on May 7 and Toronto on May 8.
The dates will come in support of Loney Dear's recently released Dear John effort and will likely find Svanängen dipping in his back catalogue as well. The dates also follow this bit of high-profile coverage from ABC News, who really seem to be getting into the whole indie rock thing these days.
Here are Loney Dear's upcoming North American dates:
3/18-21 Austin, TX - SXSW
5/4 Philadelphia, PA - Kung Fu Necktie
5/5 Brooklyn, NY - Music Hall of Williamsburg
5/6 Boston, MA - Great Scott
