To mark what would have been David Bowie's 74th birthday today, two previously unreleased covers recorded by the late artist in 1998 have been unearthed.
Rhino has shared the two songs as a limited-edition single, which includes a cover of Bob Dylan's Time Out of Mind song "Tryin' to Get to Heaven" and John Lennon's "Mother."
Bowie's Lennon cover was produced by longtime collaborator Tony Visconti for a tribute album that never came to fruition, while his Dylan cover was birthed from the recording sessions for Bowie's 1999 limited edition live album, LiveAndWell.com.
The 7-inch single is limited to 8,147 numbered copies, 1,000 of which will be released on cream coloured vinyl.
