Lemonade Unveil 'Diver' LP, North American Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 8, 2012

Even though Lemonade's Pure Moods EP came out back in 2010, the New York electro trio have evidently been working on their latest full-length for longer than that. Entitled Diver, it will finally arrive on May 29 via True Panther Sounds.

A press release notes that this album was recorded over the course of several years, with sessions taking place at home, in the band's practice space and on tour in Brazil. Eventually, Lemonade hired producer Le Chev (Frankie Rose, Fischerspooner) to help finish it off, resulting in a "sensual, bold electronic record, swimming ecstatically in the melodies of early '90s R&B, UK 2-step Garage, Balearic house and NY freestyle."

The album is apparently the band's most emotional and heartfelt record yet, as singer Callan Clendenin "attempts to hold on to redemptive love and romance in a cybernetic, information-rich world." Influences include Sade, P.M. Dawn and Swedish House Mafia.
