Last we heard from Vancouver rockers Ladyhawk, the band were without a practice space and its members were busy with side-projects like Duffy and the Doubters, Baptists and Sports, coming only together for the odd show. But as bass player Sean H. told Exclaim! last year, "There will inevitably be another Ladyhawk record."
Well it seems as if that record could be on the way soon. In a recent interview with Exclaim!, Yukon Blonde singer-guitarist Jeff Innes mentioned that Ladyhawk had been recording with producer Colin Stewart at Burnaby, BC recording studio the Hive Creative Labs, just before his own band hooked up with Stewart to lay down the newly released Tiger Talk.
"Ladyhawk recorded a bunch of stuff just before we went in," Innes reveals. "I think they've secretly done a new record. I probably shouldn't say anything, but it sounds amazing."
Just when this secret record may see the light of day remains to be seen. But it's been four years since Ladyhawk's last record Shots, so any news is good news.
If you're in Vancouver, the band play the Biltmore tonight (March 30) with Baptists.
