Kitty

'Don't Let Me Do This Again'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 27, 2014

New York rapper Kitty has already knocked out a follow-up to her spring-launched Impatiens mixtape, with the inspiration apparently stemming from a bottle of booze and a handful of favourite songs. Her new covers set Don't Let Me Do This Again is up for download now.

Kitty opts out of dropping bars on the release to instead offer up late-night keyboard noodlings, synth-bass and breathy takes on tracks by Calvin Harris, the Neighborhood and more. Elsewhere, you can sample a quickie, crystalline cabaret take on Zedd's house-pop anthem "Spectrum" or an instrumental approach to the Cure's "Love Song."

"These are covers I did when I was drunk in my room alone at night," Kitty explained in a statement, adding, "being 21 is whatever."
