We don't have much longer to wait for Blonde Redhead's star-studded compilation to benefit those affected by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011. Entitled We are the Works in Progress, it's due out January 10 via the band's own Asa Wa Kuru imprint. Now, we've been given a new taste of the collection in the form of a track called "No Face" by Karin Dreijer Andersson of the Knife/Fever Ray fame.
With its haunting late night-vibe and creepy pitch-altered vocals, the sound of this tune shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to anyone familiar with the Swedish songwriter's past works. The track is primarily made up of wordless, echoing singing and a swirling wash of background distortion.
