Justice Vs. Simian

It’s funny how remixing, and in this case bettering, a four-year-old song can make it seem fresher than when it first appeared. French duo Justice took the British electro-psych-poppers’ former single and transformed it three years ago, but it’s just now become a summer hit. By distorting it with a chubby synthetic bass line, a cyclic chime and only the chorus, it feels like a minimal treatment but they work wonders. The video makes little sense, but the flying cat, the multiple furniture topples and the corn flaking of the comatose girl are brilliant enough to keep watching. (youtube.com/watch?v=YVRxiLAheoY)
