Two generations of creative, forward thinking pop punk are coming together, as veterans Toys That Kill are teaming up with stagedive-hating newjacks Joyce Manor for a split EP and tour. Today, we get a taste of the release with a track from each band.
Joyce Manor kick off the platter with "Tame," a driving, 90-second track built on jangly guitar and impassioned singalongs. Toys That Kill offer a slightly slower track, and one that lasts half a minute longer, but still strictly within the melodic and poppy vein. These bands sound like they were made for each other.
Listen to "Tame" and "Times We Can't Let Go" below. Those songs, along with another song each per band, will arrive on the duo's split EP, due from Recess Records on December 9.
The bands' joint tour dates are also available below.
Tour dates:
12/12 Camarillo, CA - Rock City
12/13 Sacramento, CA - Midtown Barfly
12/15 Seattle, WA - Vera Project
12/16 Vancouver, BC - Korean Hall
12/17 Portland, OR - Hawthorne Theatre
12/19 San Francisco, CA - Bottom of the Hill
12/20 San Francisco, CA - Bottom of the Hill
