Glen Matlock, bassist for punk icons the Sex Pistols, has asked front-man John "Johnny Rotten" Lydon not to swear during the act's upcoming string of reunion shows, according to Dotmusic. Matlock made the request in hopes of avoiding the exposure of coarse language to any children in the audience - especially Matlock's own son, who will be in the audience for the Pistols' series of four London shows scheduled from November 8 to 12 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's lone landmark studio recording Never Mind the Bollocks... Here's the Sex Pistols.
Whether Rotten complies to the plea or not is sure to cause a ripple in an already volatile band dynamic. Historically, Rotten has not shied away from intra-band controversy, prefabricated or otherwise.
