Jeffrey Innes Details Debut High Ends Release, Streams "Downtown"

Yukon Blonde frontman Jeffrey Innes has offered up more details behind his solo set as High Ends, affixing the project's debut LP Super Class with a firm August 26 release date via Dine Alone.

As previously reported, the album was prepped by the performer after taking time off from a Yukon Blonde tour cycle. Described as "a feverishly creative burst of unfiltered solo experimentation," Innes's record was originally meant to be a written collaboratively, but he whipped up the synth-driven song cycle solo before heading into the studio.

"I initially wanted to do something that was really collaborative, so I wrote a bunch of songs with the idea of bringing friends in," Innes had previously said in a statement. "But all of my friends were on tour, so I ended up doing it myself."

Super Class was recorded on Vancouver Island with Colin Stewart at the producer's home studio, and features guest work from the likes of Ladyhawk's Darcy Hancock, Louise Burns, New Pornographers' Kathryn Calder and Gold & Youth drummer Jeff Mitchelmore.

Following the first sneak preview, "The Weight," Innes has unveiled a second Super Class stream for album track "Downtown." You can check out the neon skyline-lit synth march down below, where you'll also find High Ends' upcoming tour schedule.
