Last week, we reported that Brooklyn-based electro duo Javelin have a new record coming out called Canyon Candy. The record, -- to be released on ten-inch vinyl, as well as the bizarre Playbutton format -- will apply the team's crate-digging and beatsmithing skills to the world of classic country and western. If you were hoping that the pair would be bringing their electro-minded hoedown to your neck of the woods, your prayers have been answered: Javelin have announced a new round of North American tour dates.
Come May, Javelin will be heading out on a quick nine-date trip along the East Coast. Canadian fans can catch the group in Montreal on May 31 and in Toronto on June 1. The pair will be joined by energetic NOLA electro-rapper Big Freedia. You can check out the dates below.
While band revenue is still generated through record sales, live performances do help pay the bills as well. With that in mind, maybe Javelin's hitting the road to pay for their sister project, a short "psychedelic western film" also titled Canyon Candy. However much they make, the band are still asking for help to fund the flick via Kickstarter.
Tour dates:
5/24 Washington, DC - DC 9 *
5/25 Baltimore, MD - Sonar *
5/26 New York, NY - Mercury Lounge *
5/30 Boston, MA - Brighton Music Hall *
5/31 Montreal, QC - Belmont *
6/1 Toronto, ON - TBC *
6/2 Pittsburgh, PA - Shadow Lounge *
6/3 Cincinnati, OH - Midpoint Indie Summer Series @ Fountain Square #
6/5 Chicago, IL - Empty Bottle *
* with Big Freedia
