For the past year, this 20-year-old from Wimbledon has been dropping jaws with his DIY bedroom hip-pop. Likenesses to the Streets and Lily Allen are undeniable, but judging by his debut album, Panic Prevention, Jamie T is beating those two at their game. This album cut demonstrates the lad’s lo-fi studio wizardry, pushing forward a great two-step beat layered with discordant guitars and an emo slanted hyperactive chorus. Perhaps even better than the music is the brilliance of his media player, which is the exact same Fisher Price tape player I had as a kid. (www.jamie-t.com)
