Islands Gearing Up For Album Number Three

BY Brock ThiessenPublished May 13, 2009

Islands have wrapped the recording of their third long-player, announcing this week that the Montreal crew's latest "master(piece)" is heading our way this fall.

Front-man Nick Thorburn gave the heads-up on the new record Monday (May 11) via his trusty Twitter account. In his post, he said the album will be called Vapours (yes, Canadian spelling intact) and should be out in September. Thorburn also said Vapours clocks in at exactly 42 minutes and 34 seconds, and that the only things left to do are the sequencing and mastering, which Islands are currently doing at New York City's legendary Sterling Sound.

At this point, that's all we really know about this follow-up to last year's Arm's Way, but we're sure Thorburn will feed us more info in piecemeal chunks during the coming months.
