Interpol

"Same Town, New Story" (The Field remix)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 11, 2014

Interpol never got out of that snowstorm in time to make it to Canada last month, but fans can console themselves with a remix of their El Pintor cut "Same Town, New Story" by the Field.

While the original version of the song was a fairly standard four minutes, this expands that to 11 and a half minutes. Its hypnotic, low-key electronic pulse means that it sounds extremely different from the original track, although the vocals that fight to be heard over the cyclical bass motif mean that it's still faintly recognizable as Interpol.

It can be downloaded for free the website for Interpol's art collaboration with Shepard Fairey (see the button in the bottom-right corner of the page).
