Interpol

"All the Rage Back Home" (video)

It's been four years since celebrated post-punks Interpol released an album, and fans can now officially welcome them back with their new single "All the Rage Back Home."

The song begins as a softly spacious, crooning ballad. It picks up around 50 seconds in, as a crunchily propulsive rhythm section joins the atmospheric guitar leads. It's toe-tapping and infectious without losing the band's signature moodiness. The accompanying black and white video shows the band performing in a black, shadowy room; these shots are intercut with surfing footage.

It was directed by Paul Banks and Sophia Peer. Watch it below.

El Pintor is due out on September 8 on Matador. Read Exclaim!'s interview with the band about the album here.
