Inlet Sound have built up anticipation for their debut full-length with music videos and live sessions, and now the Ontario folk-pop act are ready to release The Romantics. Prior to its official release on October 16, you can stream the whole thing here at Exclaim.ca.
The album was recorded with producer Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep, Holy Fuck). It's heavy on rustically climactic anthems that begin slow and build to energetic conclusions.
A press release notes that the band's goal was to "translate the tumultuous experiences of youth and maturation into a message to which many could relate." What resulted was "a narrative of sorts; forged from the anxiety of growing old, and painted with both melancholy and hopefulness."
Inlet Sound will perform in Waterloo, ON, on Thursday (October 11), and in Toronto on October 21 and 27. See the full details here and listen to the album below.
