While we knew that Hunx & His Punx frontman Hunx (aka Seth Bogart) was dropping a solo set this year called Hairdresser Blues, we didn't know how his supposedly punkier pop fare would stack up to the "oldies vibe" of his full-time gig. A new trailer for the LP, which Hardly Art drops February 28, suggests things aren't exactly mind-blowingly different, but we're excited all the same.
The brief clip offers snippets from the album, from the upbeat sock-hopper "Private Room" to the mellow, acoustic guitar-assisted "When You're Gone," while showcasing Hunx's styling skills as he and skivvie-sporting drummer/boyfriend Daniel Pitout (Nü Sensae) bounce between gooing up their hair with gel, shave their faces (save Hunx's pencil-thin mustache, of course) and playing their instruments inside a bathtub.
Truthfully, we're a little weirded out by the Rapunzel-style tresses that flow non-stop from one banana hammock, but salon owner Hunx has probably dealt with wilder follicular problems before. Hairdresser Blues, indeed.
