London, ON blues-rock outfit Hiroshima Hearts recently dropped their debut self-titled full-length, and they're keeping the momentum behind it rolling with a new video for album cut "Rust" — and Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere.
The gritty tune has been paired with some sleek and black-and-white visuals that give the song some extra sparkle. While the band spread the songwriting duties between four members, "Rust" is the product of a collaboration specifically between Jenn Marino, who wrote the lyrics, and bassist Mike Del Vecchio.
"'Rust' is a song we had on the shelf for a while, but when Jenn joined the band last year, she took it and pulled it together for us," said Huff. "We often close our live set with it and it really slams."
The video was shot in drummer John Huff's basement and edited by the band (with help from Del Vecchio's production company 331 Arts). You can catch the band live at Toronto venue Let's Be Frank on September 5, but for now, get a taste of their raw, raucous energy in the clip for "Rust" below.
