Here Are the 2018 Western Canadian Music Awards Winners

Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Dear Rouge, the Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer and Fred Penner are among the winning artists

Following the nominees reveal earlier this year, the Western Canadian Music Awards winners have now been announced in the artistic categories.

The awards were handed out last night (October 11) at an awards gala in Kelowna, BC, as part of the annual BreakOut West.

Among the winning artists are the likes of Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Dear Rouge, the Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer, Fred Penner, the Funk Hunters, Scenic Route to Alaska and Striker, among others.

You can see the complete list of all the winning artists announced so far below, with the winners appearing in bold.

BreakOut West takes place from October 10 to 14 in Kelowna. The winners in the industry categories will be announced on Saturday (October 13).

Honourees will include Terry Jacks, who will receive the 2018 Heritage Award, and Allan Reid, who will be presented with the 2018 Kevin Walters Industry Builder Award. In addition, the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame Induction will honour Spirit of the West for their song "Home for a Rest," while Kelowna-born band the Grapes of Wrath will be inducted into the Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
