Montreal outfit Heat recently re-released their Rooms EP, and to mark the occasion, they've traded in their signature guitar-based rock'n'roll sound for something a little more poppy — in fact, something from the Queen of Pop herself. The band have covered Madonna's "Dress You Up."
Taking the glimmering synth-pop of the original and putting a shoegaze-y spin on it, Heat's version of the '80s hit definitely has a gloomier feel to it. The synths still shimmer, but guitars and drums give it some extra edge, while the sneering baritone vocals add another dash of darkness.
