Head North completed their transformation from pop punk to what they call "cosmic rock" earlier this year with The Last Living Man Alive Ever in the History of the World, which they're now showing off via a music video for its "White Light."
The video aesthetically matches their new sound, with blurry, bright and super-saturated visuals bringing to mind a dream, while the trance-inducing bleep-bloops that repeat throughout lull you into one. Maintaining the DIY ethos that inspired them to self-release the album, the video was self-made.
"The idea for this video was to cover our summer tour with Gates and Vasudeva by recording with our phones through the lens of a Polaroid Land Camera," reveals drummer Ben Lieber. "It made for an interesting look, and I think it also prompted us to be more selective with what we captured so that it all had intent and a purpose. It was a really fun tour, and this is one of our most fun/upbeat songs. It made sense to pair the two."
Upbeat the song certainly is, with the aforementioned electronic sounds leading the way to a jangly chorus as bright as the titular light, but don't just take my word for it; check out the bands audio and visual evolution in the player below and don't miss them on tour with Trophy Eyes and Free Throw.
