Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam

"When the Truth Is..."

The sneak previews from Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam's I Had a Dream That You Were Mine have been sounding pretty luscious so far, with the latest to arrive from the set being a doo-wop-dolloping swoon tune titled "When the Truth Is..."

While percussively possessing an aggressive and mechanical snare clap, the arrangement also utilizes bottle slide guitar leads, on-the-beat piano plinking, and a round of flamingos-leaning "shoo-bop, shoo-bop" backups. Over this, Leithauser unravels a lubricated narrative about travelling along 17th Street after a drink or two.

You can hear all about his journey through graveyards, harbours, beer parlours and parks down below, while Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam's I Had a Dream That You Were Mine arrives in full on September 23 via Glassnote.
