Well, the Gossip are stepping it up a notch. Along with inking a major label deal with Columbia, the Portland trio have revealed that super-producer/Grammy magnet Rick Rubin is at the boards on their upcoming new full-length, which we now know is due out June 22 in the UK.
There aren't tons of details about this long-awaited follow-up to 2006's breakthrough Standing in the Way of Control (like a North American release date), but the band have confirmed that the album's title will be Music for Men and that it will be preceded by the single "Heavy Cross" on June 15.
This record is also a romantic one, front-woman Beth Ditto says. "There's a shit-load of love songs in there," she told NME. "Writing down the tracklisting, we had about 14 songs and seven had the world 'love' in the title. I had no idea I was so romantic."
A world tour is on the way in support of Music for Men, but the dates, as well as that tracklisting, have yet to be announced.
