Gonjasufi Unveils 'MU.ZZ.LE' Mini-Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 1, 2011

Just last week, eccentric electronic artist Gonjasufi unveiled his free four-track The Ninth Inning EP, but the experimental musician has already announced plans to follow that release with a self-produced set titled MU.ZZ.LE.

Warp will issue the mini-album on CD, digitally and as a double ten-inch on January 24 in North America and a day earlier in the UK. According to the label, the release features "political, social and spiritual interpretations that define him [Gonjasufi] as an artist."

Written while he was out on the road, the record supposedly mixes sorrowful strings, hip-hop beats and old soul with Gonjasufi's "testimony of how one mans passion and determination is often misunderstood as anger."

"MU.ZZ.LE was more like knowing that what comes out of the mouth of man, sets man free and defies them, it was me guarding my words and my tongue," he said in a statement. "These words are less but I feel like I'm saying more."

MU.ZZ.LE:

1. "White Picket Fence"

2. "Feedin' Birds"

3. "Nikels and Dimes"

4. "Rubberband"

5. "Venom"

6. "Timeout"

7. "Skin"

8. "The Blame"

9. "Blaksuit"

10. "Sniffin'"
