Australian DJ/producer Golden Features has released a new single, "Flesh," coinciding with the announcement of his upcoming sophomore album Sisyphus. Due July 7 via BRONSON collaborators ODESZA's Foreign Family Collective, the album taps into his genre-defying style, inspired by his clubbing experience in Berlin.
"Flesh" unravels Golden Feature's sonic experiments swaying with hypnotic melodies and thumping basslines.
Discussing the single, Golden Features revealed, "'Flesh' was one of the earlier demos from the album's writing process. It was a direct response to my time in Berlin and a song that encapsulated everything I fell in love with on my journeys."
He continued, "I wrote it trying to express feelings of being under the weight of an 8 hour session in the rave. Overstimulated, anxious and completely terrified of facing the real world outside. Finally gathering the courage to call it a night, experiencing the surreal shift that is walking out of a windowless dungeon into a beautiful sunrise."
"Flesh" — which you can hear below — follows in the footsteps of three sharp singles "Touch," "Vigil" and "Endit," the latter of which is known for revving up the recent F1 '23 video game soundtrack.
Regarding the album Golden Features said, "Sisyphus is a record born out of a need for change. After years of touring the same music, I found myself in a place where I was jaded and had lost the excitement that propelled me into creating music in the first place. I think this is natural when you exist in a space for any extended period of time."
The unveiling of the album comes after last month's announcement of the Sisyphus Tour, a 12-date North American run that includes a stop in Toronto.
