Italian horror/prog masters Goblin have already announced plans to swing through Montreal and Toronto on their first-ever North American tour this fall, and the outing got just a little more special for Canadians with the addition of a Vancouver date.
The gig is on October 17 at the Rickshaw Theatre. Tickets cost $25 (plus service fees) and go on sale this Friday (July 19) at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages cost $65 and include early entry (during the last 30 minutes of soundtrack), a pre-show meet and greet with the band, and a limited-edition tour poster; they will be available here.
As previously reported, Goblin will also be selling a limited-edition tour-only release being put out by Death Waltz Recording Co.
This show is part of the West Coast leg of the band's upcoming tour. After the Vancouver gig, they will head down the U.S. coast en route to Austin, TX, where they are scheduled to perform their score for Suspiria. See the schedule below, and note that an additional L.A. show is also now included.
The rest of tour will feature a different setlist than the Austin shows, however. According to a press release, "The Italian Soundtrack Kings will perform all of their classic cuts, including scores from Deep Red, Suspiria, Tenebrae, Dawn of the Dead, Phenomena, Sleepless and other songs that are milestones among prog rock followers, including songs from Roller, Il fantastico Viaggio del Bagarozzo Mark, and most recently Back to the Goblin. Other famous scores never performed live anywhere will be included on this tour."
