Goat Treated to Double-Live Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 15, 2013

Afrobeat-tinted Swedish psych crew Goat released their debut album World Music last year, and quickly followed it up with a Sub Pop 7-inch. They've always been known most for their live show, however, which is why we're happy to report they've been treated to a double-live album.

Titled Live Ballroom Ritual, the album's recordings are culled from a concert that the band performed on July 27 of this year at Camden's Electric Ballroom in London, England.

According to a press release, "the 1,100-plus crowd either danced furiously to the band's psyched grooves or stood there, mouths open and gazed in awe at the spectacle they couldn't believe they were witnessing. It truly was a band on top of their game...."

Live Ritual Ballroom will be available on December 2 from Rocket Recordings, which is releasing the set on green splatter vinyl, on CD and digitally. However, the vinyl version appears to be super limited and is already sold out on the label's Bandcamp. Luckily, the double-LP can still be purchased through sites like Boomkat.

For a taste of the live album, you can listen to Goat rip through their live rendition of "Let It Bleed" at the bottom of the page.
