Even in the best of times, there's always an intense give-and-take between stars and their fans. In the age of COVID-19, however, things can prove incredibly sketchy. Take, for example, Grammy-winning singer Gloria Estefan, who says she contracted COVID-19 from an unmasked fan.

In a new Instagram video, available below, the "Conga" singer explained that she rarely leaves her home, and when she does, she always wears a mask. However, she added that in October she went to a restaurant where she dined outside and wore a mask "all the way to the table."

She posits that the only way she could have been infected was through a fan interaction, as a fan tapped her on the shoulder and spoke to her from a close distance. "I even held my breath through their talk, but something must have happened there," she said.

Estefan said that she didn't have too many symptoms, but added that she did lose her sense of taste and smell momentarily. She goes on to urge people to wear masks.
