Gang Gang Dance Reveal 4AD Debut

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 8, 2011

It's been a long while since we heard an album proper from New York experimentalists Gang Gang Dance. True, the forward-thinking outfit issued the Kamakaru EP last summer, but that material was recorded way back in 2007. In terms of full-lengths, the group haven't dropped one since 2008's stunning Saint Dymphna, but that will soon change when Gang Gang Dance unveil their 4AD debut this spring.

A press release states that Gang Gang Dance's Eye Contact will be unleashed May 10 in North America and a day earlier in the UK. While we're hoping that the set continues the band's wildly creative streak, toying with everything from hip-hop to tribalism to dank dubstep, another part of us hopes the troupe flip the script completely.

Following Eye Contact's release, the act will be a couple of European festival shows. You can see those dates below, though no cover art or tracklisting for the new LP has been revealed yet.

Tour dates:

5/13-15 Minehead, UK - All Tomorrow's Parties

5/26-28 Barcelona, SP - Primavera Sound Festival
