Just over a year ago, electronic pop duo Games rebranded themselves as Ford & Lopatin and launched the Mexican Summer side-label Software. What followed was a series of excellent releases, and that streak will hopefully continue with a new EP from Joel Ford's solo project Airbird.
The five-song effort is called Trust, and it marks the first release from Ford since moving from New York City to Asheville, NC. As a press release explains, he's currently "obsessed with the dichotomy of big city culture versus the solitude of the American wilderness."
The write-up continues by promising, "Oblique rhythm schemes, computer-funk, and oceanic pop drift song" that ultimately "create a unique look at the contemporary e-music scene."
While we haven't heard the whole thing just yet, album track "Goodnight" definitely suggests good things to come from this release. Stream it below.
