Oxford, UK guitar pop troupe Foals have been relatively quiet since the release of their 2010 LP Total Life Forever, only emerging with their !K7 mixtape earlier this year. Now, however, the band have revealed plans to release their third album.
The band have announced that the new album is called Holy Fire and will be released on February 11 in the UK. If we're lucky, a North American release date won't be far behind.
The release was produced by Flood and Moulder, who have previously worked with Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Nine Inch Nails and many others.
Speaking with NME, frontman Yannis Philippakis said, "There are some heavier moments and some dirtier moments. It's swampy, some of the grooves are quite stinky. There's a track called 'My Number' that had a Curtis Mayfield groove which was pretty unashamedly funk, for want of a better word."
Stay tuned for more info on Holy Fire as it becomes available. Prior to the album release, the band will drop lead single "Inhaler" on November 5.
