Quebec City two-piece Fjord have just unveiled a brand new tune called "If I Was to Call."
It's a dreamy number that manifested itself surprisingly quickly. Louis-Étienne Santais explained that it came after he and bandmate Thomas Casault "stopped trying so hard and completely stopped doing music for a while."
After the idea started in a suburban Quebec basement, the duo recorded the song in London with producer Tim Bran.
According to Santais, Bran "gave it a little bit of an '80s power ballad feel, but without the cheese that usually comes with the genre."
Listen to "If I Was to Call" below.
The track arrives just ahead of live shows with Milk & Bone. See Fjord's upcoming tour dates below, as well.
Tour dates:
11/16 Montreal, QC – M Telus *
11/17 Gatineau , QC – Minotaur *
* supporting Milk & Bone
