Edmonton's the Fight previously gave us a taste of their North America EP by sharing a couple of singles. Now, with the collection arriving tomorrow (October 9) through Open Circles Collective, they have shared the entire six-song set.
The band take a gruff approach to triumphant rock, packing their songs with distorted strums and sky-reaching hooks. That being said, there's an undercurrent of bittersweet, cinematic melancholia running through North America. "Reckless" is steeped in nostalgia, while the crunchy riffs of "Smoke" are presented with a plodding tempo and downcast vocals, and the jackhammer drum crescendos of "Ashtray" are interspersed between glum breakup lyrics and moodily chiming guitars.
Hear it all below.
