Fans Looking to Erect Dimebag Darrell Statue

Houston’s Joey Riordan and Toronto’s Mangra are working towards erecting a commemorative life-size "Dimebag” Darrell Abbott statue in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. The two have cited other states and places that have statues of famous musicians as a way of proving the worth for having a monument. In Dublin, Ireland they have one for Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), Bon Scott (AC/DC) in Fremantle, Australia, Jimi Hendrix in Seattle and Elvis has one in Memphis.

The two metalheads have set up a MySpace page where people can check out various "Dimebag” items (music videos, songs), converse with other fans and donate towards this great cause. Up to December 8 they had raised $1,063.33.
